Orissa is situated on the east coast of Bay of Bengal. The city is known as ‘Soul of India’,
as it is a spiritual land with numerous ancient temples and thousands of master crafts. The
Jagannath Temple of Puri is a well known sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Krishna.
It is one of the four pilgrims in Char Dham Yatra. The temple of Jagannatha is one of the tallest monuments in India.
The temple structure is full of beautiful carvings and sculptures.
The temple is famous for its annual Rath Yatra or Chariot festival in which the three main divinities are pulled
on huge and decorated chariots. A huge crowd in Puri is seen during
the Chariot Festival of Jagannatha which takes place every year in the month of June and July.
